From generalist to online communication specialist

The use of your laptop, tablet, PC or smartphone for video calling has become "a piece of cake" for almost all Dutch people. Where the help of IT was previously called in, video calling or participating in webinars is a matter of a few clicks and "Go” these days. Partly because of Corona, necessity has been made a virtue and we have all learned how to deal with video conferencing, webinars and other variants of live online communication.

If we look back at how quickly the "old" Skype-method, with only video calling and a chat message, has been transformed into the professional use of various video communication tools with screen sharing, recording, chatting, host, co-host and organizing a meeting with very large video participants, then we can rightly speak of a booming business in this unique sector.

Zoom

It is not without reason that the number of suppliers has increased rapidly and the names Teams, Zoom, Webex and Google Meet are now known to many. Microsoft Teams is about further developing the old solutions into what it is today. The result is a stable product that offers an excellent basic solution for many who already have Microsoft products at home. Although much slower and guzzling high bandwidths, Teams has also benefited from the booming video communication. The Silicon Valley firm Zoom has transformed itself from unknown to globally known in record time. Zoom was founded not so long ago, in 2011 to be precise, and also rose due to the consequences of Corona. From an initially basic generalist player in the field of live online video communication, Zoom has now acquired the status of specialist in this field.

Continual investments as well as the stock exchange have resulted in large financial injections, which resulted in one innovation after the other seeing the light of day. The focus of Zoom is increasingly aimed at professional users. These are located in various branches, including business, education and healthcare. Users who choose Zoom know that in addition to the perfect and scalable video quality, they also have many other features at their disposal. Being able to use all these features requires the necessary in-depth knowledge, but gaining this knowledge is easy, because everything is focused on letting the customer find their way quickly. The word safety is written in capital letters at Zoom. In short, a user-friendly program with everything you need to move as many activities as possible to the web. Zoom can rightly be called the real live online video communication specialist.

Live subtitles

A final achievement is the live translation via subtitles during meetings or webinars. No other product in this industry has developed it as well as Zoom. For years you have been able to hire a real interpreter for the webinars to translate the language of the speaker(s) orally into the desired language. However, with the new live translation module you can also choose the spoken text as subtitles without an interpreter in multiple languages, from German to French and from Chinese to Dutch. Yes, even Korean or Ukrainian. For many multinationals, international schools, ministries, governments and language institutes, it is a blessing that this tool has been developed by Zoom. New worlds of international business or teaching can be discovered. New communication within one day is possible. Zoom once again shows that the professional user who also embraces these kinds of innovations is especially sought after. But Zoom is also still the best choice for the straightforward user. Once a generalist startup player, Zoom is currently the (only) real specialist when it comes to live online video communication software for various target groups. I would say, convince yourself.
